- Do you need people for things besides acting and singing?
Yes. We have tasks related to shows and tasks not related to shows. Here are some examples:
- Culling, sorting, and organizing our costume stock
- Sticking labels on mailouts
- Cleaning the theater (vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, etc.)
- Building and painting sets
- Hauling stuff to the dump
- How much time does the average volunteer task take?
Three hours. If you work backstage on a show, it's a LOT more, but the kind of intermittent annual tasks we have take no more than a 1/2 day.
- Do you have to have experience with theater work to volunteer?
No. Most of our volunteers have no experience with theater work. They just like doing something for the community.
I work full–time. Can I still volunteer?
Yes. Many of our tasks are scheduled far enough ahead of time for busy people to plug in as they can. For example, we might have a volunteer call for a particular task on Saturday from noon to 3:00. We try to fit the task to the resources available.
- Could I work off community service hours through FTC?
Yes. FTC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, and as such, is eligible for working off community service hours. However, we are zero tolerance about drug use.
- How do I sign up?
You can sign up here at the web site through our contact form or you can call our office.
